Hi Lily
This page shows where ShadeInStadiums stands today. Everything is here in one place: what changed, screenshots of the app, the logo choices, and what is still being worked on. Nothing to download. Just scroll.
What's new
- One clear answer first. The results screen now opens with a single short line, for example 1 hr 45 min shade, 1 hr 15 min sun, 1:00–4:00 PM.
- The numbers match everywhere. The headline and the shade card show the same times, and shade plus sun add up to the full time window.
- Easier to read. Faint gray text on the dark background was made brighter so every note is easy to read.
- Full app name in the top bar. "ShadeInStadiums" now shows in full instead of being cut off.
- A friendlier home screen. It now says "See how long a seat stays in the shade." and offers three quick examples: Arthur Ashe, Wimbledon Centre Court and Fenway.
- Roof note. Stadiums with a sliding roof say so clearly: shade times assume the roof is open, and when it is closed every seat is covered.
- Honest, plain wording when details are missing. If we don't have row names or seat numbers for a section yet, the app says so in one short line instead of guessing.

Logo options
There are four sunhat designs in your colors (sun yellow, shade gray, deep gray and white). The one in use now is riviera, the wide yellow brim with half of it in gray, as if part of the hat is in the shade. It's the top row below, and it still looks clear at tiny app-icon size (right column).
Done so far
Highlights include the stadium picture on the first screen, searching by venue, city or event type, the calendar and time picker, US Open, Australian Open and Wimbledon maps, the roof note, the new app name and the sunhat logo.
Still in progress
The last three checklist items all need the same missing piece: seat numbers. The public stadium seating charts we found list sections (and sometimes rows), but not the seat numbers in each row.
Item 6: Seat drop-down
The seat picker is built, but it only shows up once we know how many seats a row has. No stadium has that information yet, so for now you stop at the row.
Item 9: Shade for an exact seat or row
When a row or seat isn't known, the app says so and shows the shade for the area it does know, like the whole section. It doesn't make up a more exact answer.
Item 22: Official section, row and seat names
Official section names, and row letters where the charts list them, are in the app. Seat numbers aren't, because no public chart gives them.
Also: the stadium shapes used to work out the shade are still rough sketches, not exact measurements. That's why the app says "Confidence: low" and "may vary." The answers are a good guide, and they'll get more accurate as the stadium models improve.
Small polish next
- Add a little more space under the small "no row names yet" note so it doesn't touch the cards below it.
- Make the teal links (like "Sun detail" and "Shadier seats nearby") a bit brighter on the dark background.
